Imperial County
As a direct result of the DEIA policy commitment, the Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) identified a series of targeted trainings, collaborative partnerships, and innovative resources such as the Health Equity Hub and Health Equity Office Hours. These initiatives were created to support staff development, foster collaboration, and provide ongoing access to equity-related information and guidance. Alongside this policy, several targeted workshops and trainings have been conducted for ICPHD staff. These trainings and workshops include the following: Racial Equity Training in October 2023, a Racial Equity Workshop conducted by the Imperial Valley Justice Committee, LGBT Competency Training in February 2024, Climate Equity Training in April 2024, and a 2-Day Grant Writing workshop in May 2024. In addition, we have coordinated the participation of more than 25 members in the Lodestar Brave Leadership Training, the virtual All of Us Training, and the On the River Training. These target trainings and workshops are part of our commitment to providing staff with opportunities to enhance their equity skillset.
